Beams Plus has been a mainstay at Peggs & son for as long as we can remember. Distilled from its decades long love affair with Ivy League Americana and born out of the original Harajuku store that first imported rare mid-century US workwear back in the 1970s, what makes Beams Plus special is that rare combination of everyday wearability with a distinctly Japanese eye for detail. Their latest range is a great showcase of exactly that, from the ultimate Ivy shirt to knitwear built for the colder months ahead.
The standout is the Japanese made Oxford Shirt, a genuine contender for the best on the market: soft Oxford cotton, a two-finger button-down collar with a subtle arrow-shaped back, a straight back yoke with twin pleat, and mother-of-pearl buttons discreetly etched with the Beams Plus logo. Elsewhere, the open weave Panama Plaid Shirt brings a loose, textured 1950s feel, while the knitwear is a real highlight this season, from the Full Zip Popcorn Knit with its funnel neck and bubble texture, to the Crew Multi Stripe with needlecord elbow patches and raglan sleeves.
