The Knitted Polo is one of our essential winter pieces at Peggs & son. They are easy to layer, adaptable from early autumn through the depths of winter, and equally at home over a t-shirt, under a mid-layer, or worn alone with slouchy denim or tailored trousers. It's a category we buy deeply into, and this season's edit spans everything from British lambswool to Italian merino and Japanese craftsmanship.
The standout is an exclusive lambswool polo made for us by Pittari. With a short placket, tonal fisheye buttons and a slightly wider collar, it comes in a rich seasonal palette running from Bournville brown through to Tahiti blue, and Oxford navy. We also worked with Pittari on the Bert Polo, a heavier horizontal-rib knit with an open collar that layers well over button-downs, in the same Bournville and Oxford Navy colourways.
For colder mornings, the Another Polo 2.0 from Copenhagen label Another Aspect, made in a century-old family factory in Florence, offers a longer, slightly dressier cut with a cutaway collar. Beams Plus bring their usual Japanese precision with engraved-logo buttons across four colours, and Stone Island round things out with a Geelong Lambswool Polo featuring the brand's iconic compass patch.
